Solon, Iowa is a small town in Johnson County – which is located in eastern Iowa. Solon is mostly residential and located between in between Iowa City/Coralville and Cedar Rapids. The town is well know for its high school sports and great schools.
The main “attraction” is the wonderful Lake McBride State park and the Coralville Reservoir where you can find fishing, camping and all kinds of water sports – including canoeing, sail boating, kayaking, water skiing, recreational boating and more.
A yearly festival called Solon Beef Days can be found the 3rd weekend of July each year – the festival is fun, action packed and always free.
